ILSTA supports OSPP training on law enforcement in detention and correction facilities

The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office of Lao PDR requested the support of ILSTA in organising training on law enforcement in detention and correction facilities from 9 – 11^th May in Huayxai, the provincial capital of Bokeo Province. The training brought together police officials from the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and provincial prosecutors from the four provinces of Bokeo, Xayabouly, Luang Namtha and Luang Prabang, and prosecutors from Vientiane Capital

The OSPP is conducting a nationwide review of detention and correction facilities under its mandate, noting that the efficient management of such facilities plays an important role in both the reform of offenders and in crime prevention.
