The workshop on anti-corruption, money laundering and financing of terrorism for inspection officers of the National University of Laos was held by ILSTA and the Inspection Office of NUoL at ILSTA’s training room this week, chaired by the Vice President of NUoL, Assoc. Prof. Phosy Thipdavanh and ILSTA President, Mr Richard Philippart.
More than 20 officers from the Inspection Office of NUoL, SIAA and AMLIO gathered to strengthen their understanding and capacities to inspect and investigate corruption, money laundering, and financing of terrorism. ILSTA Director, Mr John Connolly and ILSTA Programme Officers, Ms Alina Timus and Mr Keith Farquharson conducted a series of sessions on financial investigation, corruption types and money laundering, which were followed by interactive Q&A sessions.
In addition to the ILSTA team’s sessions, the representatives from AMLIO, SIAA and Inspection Office of NUoL led a discussion on roles and duties of anti-corruption authority, alongside an introduction of procedures of corruption, money-laundering and terrorist-financing investigation in Laos.
