An Open Lecture on Rule of Law (RoL) was given by Mr. Erik Häggqvist, Director of ILSTA, on 20 October 2015. The lecture provided an overview of the concept Rule of Law. Laos has committed to establish RoL by 2020 – it was discussed what will be needed to achieve this objective. What commitments have been made by Laos through International conventions, the ASEAN charter and the Lao constitution? The lecture also touched on the historical emergence of RoL and different perceptions of RoL.
